I've looked at all the border-run options and for me the best is an overnight train to Padang Basar, returning the same day on another overnight. Just want to confirm before booking that the 60 day tourist visa will be issued at that border? Also, is there anything to do in Padang Basar during the day-long wait?
Hi, I hold a brazilian passport and haven't done any border run yet.
I actually tried to go with Bangkok Buddy for a border run but when I got to the meeting point instead of paying 3k baht as advertised on their website they wanted me to pay 7k because "Brazilians get 3 months stamp and it's more expensive" also implying it wasn't the company raising their price, it would be a bribe for the immigration officials...!
I was skeptical and thought they were trying to rip me off, so instead I booked a flight to KL, spent a week there and came back.
Now I'd like to try it again, my questions are:
Any input from people who are elegible for 3 months visa exempt?
Recommendations and tips for friendly borders to go on my own by bus or train, without a visa company? (i read here Mae Sai, any others?)
I have 5 back to back visa exempt entries since February 2019, I guess it's quite a few, so this should be my last attempt to entry Thailand.
