Sorry if this has been asked already but I didn't see it when I did a quick search - will the office in Promenada be open tomorrow?

You use the Promenada immigration office to get an extension on an existing visa or entry stamp for 1900baht..

You use the Mae Sai border crossing to get a NEW 30 day visa exempt entry stamp.

They are completely different things. :/

Just so you know, IF your current stamp expires on a day the immigration office is closed (weekends or holidays like today) and you go there the next day they're open to apply for the extension you are not fined for overstay and get the extension like normal

You will get an overstay stamp in your passport but it will have a 0 fine.

Perfect! That's what I was hoping to do - get an extension for 1900baht but my current stamp expires over the weekend so I wasn't sure if I'd still be able to go there. Thank you!

Umm, tomorrow is Saturday so that would be a no, they're not open. They're open M-F except for holidays.

Tod Daniels One last question (well, I guess it's a two-parter): you can only use Promenada if it's BEFORE the expiration date, correct? No grace period? And is the Mae Sai land crossing the most convenient from Chiang Mai, even if that's the one I've used [once] previously?
