Anyone from here who had experience "walk-in" visa application in Vientiane, Laos?

Coming from Udon Thani there's a bus that goes directly to Vientiane right? 

And the bus will wait for you to get stamped just like in Savannakhet?

Is the bus station in Vientiane near to hotels and embassy?(consulate office).

I'd highly appreciate your responses!
