Went to Sydney consulate to lodge O A Multi. Had checked paperwork and list from the net a dozen times to make sure I had not stuffed up. Arrived at consulate read the what's required leaflet, yep same thing: 1 set original 2 copies. Presented paperwork; they only wanted one original one copy and two photocopies of passport. Asked how come and they said the Internet had not been updated. I pointed out their information leaflet next to the counter was wrong and she just shrugged. Mae pen rai papers accepted, money paid and out the door in five minutes. Tis the Thai way, hoping everything else goes smoothly.

Paul Potter, a few questions. Did you get a "name check" through AFP.? What did the visa cost? (Multi entry $550?) Wouldn't it be cheaper to get an O visa and change to O - A when in Thailand.?

or you can get sucked into paying a company to submit you form for you. Took a week for it to arrive in the mail. OA MULTI at Sydney Consulate 270 I think. Cheap and easy took two days.

, you are confusing a year-long, multi-entry O-A visa which costs 275 (For 1 year) from the thai consulate in Sydney an O-X visa <- which is totally a different visa type is the 550 you mention. The one you want is the 275 AUD one..

You can't really compare a year-long, multi-entry O-A visa that you get from a thai consulate in your country with an O visa and a yearly extension that you get inside the country.

That's like comparing apples to durian. In every single way the year-long, multi-entry O-A visa is superior. It's valid for a year from the date it's issued, it's unlimited entry for the whole year, you get stamped in for a NEW year every entry AND you don't need to bank a single baht of money in thailand, you show proof of funds by your bank account in your country.

make sure you check your stamp in at immigration on arrival. It should state 1 year... Checking stamps should be routine.

Recommend getting to Sydney Consulate a little early it fills up quick. Once they open the window at 2pm it is a snappy production line. Was out the door 10mins after they started calling numbers. Happy as with my O A Multi Visa firmly in place. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž

actually she was very cheerful, big smile and very efficient. A pleasant change from normal paper pushers. But I will hang my head for doing anything other than smile and nod.
