Do I need to transfer tourist 60 day exemption stamp?

Hello. I am in Thailand currently on a tourist 60 day exemption but just got a new (UK) passport sent over. 

1. Do I need to transfer the tourist stamp to the new passport?

2. And if i need to do that do i need some kind of letter from my embassy?
