I'm a bit confused by the land crossing issue. If I get a 60 day tourist visa in Vientiane and cross back over to Thailand at Nongkhai they stamp me oyn for 60 days not 15 days right?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When you enter Thailand at Nongkhai after obtaining a 60-day tourist visa in Vientiane, you will indeed receive a 60-day stamp, not just a 15-day stamp. However, bear in mind that there are restrictions regarding visa-exempt stamps when crossing by land.

The land crossing β€˜issue’ I presume you are referring to only being allowed 2 visa exempt stamps per year when crossing by land border.

If you have a visa you will be stamped in 2 month and there it's no limit per calendar year...

If come in bye land with a visa exempt entry you will get stamped in 30 days and you allowed to do this 2 times every calendar year
