TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the expected duration of stay granted when re-entering Thailand with a 6-month Multi Entry Tourist Visa (METV). Comments confirm that as long as the entry occurs before the visa's expiration date, the holder should expect a 60-day stamp upon entry after a border bounce.

Here's an example this visa is good for unlimited entries right up until 11:59PM on Feb 14th 2020 (valentines day). As long as the holder of that visa stamps in on or before that date they'll get another 60 day entry stamp

check your visa and see what the valid until date is..

Sorry for being such a dumbass ๐Ÿ˜‚

nope, you're fine. it's common to mix up the entry stamp date that lets you stay IN thailand with the visa expiration date that lets you GET IN to thailand.

That's why I wanted to have you look on your VISA and see the enter before date. <- That's the date you need to re-enter the country by NOT the expiration date on your current entry stamp

Good Luck with your border bounce (y)

You're also confused about how the procedure at Mae Sai works. You can't even stamp OUT of thailand if you can't stamp back in because you don't get a VISA to burma, you just pay 500 baht to stamp in and out (day pass). When you go to stamp back into thailand as long as your 6 month METV is still valid you will get another 60 day entry stamp.

, alright, lets get this sorted..

You hold a 6 month METV and that visa is valid for unlimited entries to thailand during the 6 months it's good for.

It has NOTHING to do with your current entry stamp's expiration date and everything to do with when the VISA itself expires. So look on your visa, see the issue date and the "valid until" date. As long as you enter the country ON or before that "valid until date" you'll get stamped in for 60 days

with a METV you can theoretically get 8 months out of it, doing a border run just before it becomes invalid, which will be 6 + 2 months. After this you could still do another border run and enter with 30 day visa exempt, which you can extend on Immigration inside Thailand for 30 more days for 1900 THB. Giving you almost 10 months of stay

check the date on your visa sticker on how long it is valid for re-entries

Thanks

Yes it's valid April 6th.

sorry, I have no idea about the Mae Sai border hop. I also do not know if you are allowed to stay on the Burmese side of the border for a few days. For that, there will obviously be a visa requirement, no "border hop fee". Maybe somebody else can advise

Sorry to be a pain.

I've been reading post saying just pay 500thb to Myanmar Immigration no need for a entry visa.

Is that correct?
Gregor **********
as long as you are within the validity period of your Multi Entry Tourist visa, each entry will give you 60 more days admitted stay
Gregor **********
please note, the validity date of the visa is not the same as the admitted-to-stay date in the stamp. One says "valid until", the other says "admitted until". However in regards to your travel plans, you are safe. Even if your visa should become invalid after March 22, you could still re-enter Thailand on a visa exempt in order to reach your flight home

thanks my last stamp expires on 22 March and I fly out on 29th. I am going up to MS for a week sometime this month. So I'm ok to go anytime with it being a 60 day stamp.
