Hi guys I have a 6 month METV tourist visa and my first stamp is expiring. I'm hoping to do a visa run at Ranong to get another 60 day stamp. Anyone done this recently with all the Covid hype? Do they give 60 day stamps at land crossing assuming you have visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The general consensus is that if you hold a valid 6-month METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa), you should be able to obtain a 60-day stamp upon entering Thailand via the land crossing at Ranong. Many users have confirmed that land crossings will grant the same duration as airport entries, provided the correct visa is presented.

Okay, lets clear that up, IF you hold a valid tourist VISA in your passport you will get 60 days when you stamp in <- because that's the amount of time people with tourist visas get stamped in for. If you hold a valid 6 month METV in your passport you will get stamped in for 60 days EVERY time you enter on that visa.

Ya I'm going to try the ranong route thanks just been hearing things that because its land crossing and not via airport the stamp maybe only 30 days. Jimmy where abouts are you located when do you need to border jump?

Nope, you *WILL* get a 60 day entry on a METV.

Let me know how this goes. I’m on a METV for 6 months as well, my first border run is coming shortly.

OR another option would be

Go to the immigration office and get a 30 day extension for 1900 baht to see if this covid-19 thing blows over in another month. Then you could border bounce after that..

Your choice..

you shouldn't have a problem bouncing out and back at the border with Myanmar in Ranong Province..

As you hold a 6 month METV you will get stamped in for 60 days

You do not get 60 days if you do not have a visa, you get 60 days if you have the METV, they do not assume.
