If you are coming Thailand then Travelling out and back in then shouldn't be a problem. Perhaps book a hotel in Cambodia and show that as evidence

yeh. Both February and July I was asked by Thai and Singapore Airlines. No automated checkin but counter staff.I had a $12 usd onward travel tix both times.
