Why does the Thai consulate request additional documents for a Multiple Entry Visa application?

Hey everyone! 👋
I’m a German citizen currently in Ho Chi Minh City. Yesterday I applied for a Multiple Entry Thai e-Visa at the Royal Thai Consulate here.
My trip details:
🗓️ Entry: November 21 – Exit: January 2
✈️ I included both my inbound and return flights
🏨 2 nights in Bangkok, then the rest of the time on Koh Samui (accommodation booked and included in the application)
Today I got a request for two additional documents:
1️⃣ A travel plan for the entire trip (destinations, activities, accommodation and duration of each stay)
2️⃣ A scan of ALL pages of my passport, including the empty ones
The thing is, I had already submitted a travel plan, and I thought it was pretty clear. 🤔
Has anyone had the same experience? Does anyone know why they would ask for this again? Could it look strange that I’m staying on Koh Samui for about 40 days?
Any tips or experiences would be really appreciated. Thanks a lot! 🙏

You normally need a flight out of Thailand within 90 days plus a second flight to re-enter Thailand to show why you need a METV

Why did you apply for an METV if you will only spend 90 days in Thailand? An SETV (Single Entry Tourist Visa) is sufficient to cover this. You need to show a reason why you require an METV so travel into Thailand, travel out of Thailand and travel back to Thailand. The passport pages will allow them to see your prior travel history to Thailand which suggests they suspect you are spending a lot of time in the country
