TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing difficulties in obtaining an E visa for Thailand, mainly due to eligibility issues. Comments suggest that Australians are not eligible for the eVisa and must apply through the Sydney Consulate. There may also be location-specific factors affecting the application process.

You need to put current location to Indonesia if your in Indo

Try USA

he's in Indonesia. Needs to apply there.

Easy if you're eligible. You'll have to apply through Sydney Consulate, not Canberra Embassy, which you can do online and visa will be pre-approved but you will still need to send your passport to Sydney

if you're in Indo apply in Indo. Even if Australia had e-visa you can only use it Australia not wherever you want

if you can't be bothered to make the trip to the embassy for a visa your only option is to come in visa exempt. The good news is that visa exempt goes up from 30 days to 45 days for entries from the 1st October

You can get a 60-day tourist visa from the embassy there, OR come in after October 1st with no visa and you'll get stamped in for 45 days which you can extend a further 30 days

It's telling you. You're not eligible. Australia doesn't use evisa.
