How can I open a bank account in Thailand while on a Non O visa without a lease agreement?

Currently in Thailand in the first 90 day period of a Non O visa. Trying to open a bank account so I can deposit the 800K which I have available in my UK bank.

I have a TM30 but no lease/rental agreement as am staying at my girlfriends house.

Any suggestions of what I could try? The house is in girlfriends fathers name and we have blue book and he can come to bank if required.

I don’t want to use an agent if possible.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user with a Non O visa seeks advice on opening a bank account in Thailand to deposit 800,000 THB from the UK. They lack a rental agreement as they stay at their girlfriend's house but have a TM30. Community members suggest obtaining a residence certificate from immigration, registering a mobile number, and checking with banks for specific documentation requirements. Recommendations on banks include Kasikorn (K Bank) and Krung Thai, with some sharing personal experiences and emphasizing the necessity of a TM30 and passport copies.

You have to register at the house and get a letter from immigration for the bank. You can register online or at immigration. You should press on and get it done so that you can get your deposit in place as soon as possible.

Find a bank that will let you open a account first before you get a certificate

Stephen Howell the stupidity of getting a 12 month lease when you only have a 3 month visa is beyond them.

You may need proof of your home country address, as that seems to be a new requirement

Go to your local immigration office and get a residence certificate, then go to a mobile provider and get a Thai SIM registered against your passport. Then go to a bank and ask to open an account, you might have to try a few different branches of different banks

I got one a few weeks ago in Bangkok. Just needed the TM30 and passport copies as Mr Stanners said. Had to pick it up a week later. I got two though actually . One for bank and one for driving licence.

Then I needed that certificate and a rental agreement for the bank account. Because I’m also staying at the Mrs house, I let her deal with that. Basically a few copies of the mortgage and her ID I think. Get her to check with the bank before you go in.

You can usually pay a small fee to collect the residence certificate the same day. I can't remember how much maybe 200 baht here in Hua Hin.
