TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your tourist visa in Bangkok, it depends on how you entered the country. If you arrived on a 60-day tourist visa obtained from a Thai consulate, you should go to the Chaengwattana government complex, specifically to counter J. If you entered without a visa (using visa exempt entry), you need to visit the Muang Thong Thani Immigration office at the police compound near Impact Arena and go to counter K.

Cheers for the information. I arrived on a 60 day SETV. I thought I was clear by using "tourist visa" in my OP, I know there is a difference between SETV and Visa Exemption πŸ˜‰

Here's how it works

IF you BOUGHT a tourist visa from a thai consulate before you came here and were stamped in for 60 days when you arrived you go to the main immigration office at Chaengwattana gov't complex building B, counter J

BUT

IF you showed up here without any visa in your passport and were stamped in FREE on what's called a visa exempt entry you go to Muang Thong Thani Immigration office out by Impact Arena in the police compound there and you want counter K

The real question IS

did you BUY a real tourist visa from a thai consulate before you showed up here and were stamped in for 60 days when you arrived?

OR

Did you show up here without having bought any visa before you came here and were stamped in FREE for 30 days when you arrived

That controls where you go for your extension

Did you arrive on a 60 day tourist visa or 30 day visa exempt?
