Braved the rain for a TR60 COVID 30 day extensions appointment at Muang Thong Thani. Documents in hand including US Embassy letter. Went to wrong building. Enjoyed the walk. Took advantage of the elevator since I have walking stick.
On 3rd floor, they questioned where the embassy letter came from snail or e-mail ( it's from email ). Not a problem but they asked twice. Next empty almost room for actual submission to the immigration officer. Then a 5 minute wait. And then passport back complete with under consideration stamp (see picture). It's the 15th today, and they want to see me back on the 29th.
* Ton of taxis and motorsais and a dog outside
* I had an appointment for 3:40pm but turned up early and was drinking coffee back in town by 3:40pm :-)
* The area and most rooms are a ghost town. Could kick a football in there. Where is everyone? I'm thinking a huge rush next week.
Nice day out. Thank you for this group's help, ever thankful.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster shared their experience of obtaining a TR60 COVID 30-day extension at Muang Thong Thani despite inclement weather. They arrived with required documents, including a letter from the US Embassy, but mistakenly went to the wrong building. After some confusion regarding the source of the embassy letter, they completed the submission process smoothly, receiving an 'under consideration' stamp in their passport with a return appointment set for the 29th. The atmosphere in the immigration area was notably quiet, leading the poster to speculate about a potential influx of applicants the following week.
