I’m moving to Thailand for only 1 year with 6 and 11 year old kids , I noticed schooling is very expensive so I decided to hire a private teacher for homeschooling.

I work remotely which visa would you guys recommend?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is planning to move to Thailand for a year with their two children, aged 6 and 11, and instead of enrolling them in traditional school due to high costs, they are considering homeschooling with a private teacher. They are seeking recommendations on the appropriate visa for this situation. Comments suggest that the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) would be suitable, allowing for remote work while homeschooling. Other options mentioned include the LTR Work From Thailand Professional visa and information about educational costs and programs in Thailand.

Thai school with a Bilingual program is cheap, about 40 percent Thai, 60 percent english. Around 150k per year per person, whereas the international school with 100 percent english program will run you 300k per person easily. Home tutors aren't gonna cut for your kid's future, unless you hire many teachers for every subject like Baron Trump and that is super expensive than going to an actual school.

My son is 11 and he goes to Sathit since he is 5 years old, It's English program and the price halved after covid, we pay about 30,000 baht school fee's yearly and books etc: it's a cosmopolitan school with a lot of foreign children and of the things I like is there is no homework, We are really happy with the school.

Derek Mc I assume that is basically a Thai school with little english. As a normal bilingual program will come around 150k per year.

Have a look at some of the world schooling groups, they can be a great resource too. The DTV visa would be the most suitable for your situation.

Steve Fortefyve I actually have 2 kids under 10. We brought them with us to Thailand a few months ago. My husband wanted to retire early to be a hands on Dad (he's over 50) so we went for it. Everyone is thriving!

if your children went to a school, you could get a sponsor visa for their Non-Imm-ED visa. But seeing that you exclude this option, the DTV is what you need to get, it is for working remotely. You however must prove three months of account statement (some embassies ask for 6 months) of equivalent of 500,000 THB in your bank account in order to be elegible for the DTV

If you work remotely there are only 2 visas to choose from, either the DTV or the LTR Work From Thailand Professional
