TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on which visa to apply for to live in Thailand after being married to a Thai national. They previously held a 1-year multi-entry visa but now lack the necessary financial proof for other long-term visa options. Suggestions from the community include applying for a Non-Immigrant OA visa, a single entry Visa, or a Multi-Entry Tourist Visa (METV) for six months. The community advises checking financial requirements, with an emphasis on exploring all available options due to stricter immigration regulations.

Wait till after Brexit mate. If the GBP goes back up you will be ok. If not then Spain maybe?

Even if you can get here in the short term you still need to meet the financial requirements to stay here and it sounds like you are financially on the edge. Plus who knows what will happen to your currency exchange rate after Brexit.

apply for a 6 month METV would be my advice (if you can meet the proof of funds)

Go to hull and ask them, they issue 6 month METV <- multi-entry tourist visa.

That visa would give you about 9 months in country if you use it correctly.

It's the best you're gonna get I think given your circumstances

Hi Tod , yes I just called hull visa off. And thy said this is the best one for me. 6 months METV. Cheers.

Not being horrible but not having the required funds and having enough money to last a year, at 36 baht to the pound and falling, I think you should seriously evaluate where your going to be a year down the road before you take the plunge of moving here.

Good luck in whatever you do.

Thx. Ron...

I've been advised to for a 6 months ( turns into 9 month ) multi tourist visa.

I have 400,000 but as I said I do have a monthly income just not on paper.

I have previously spent 15 yrs in Thailand , I just didn't know the new ruling.

The Thai visa office , is in my city ... Hull.

I will have to go there and chat with someone I guess.

Not leaving the uk till Nov. So

You can use Hull consulate without using online E visa for a single entry Non O visa BUT approval still needs to be got via London and it isn't a same day service for non tourist type visas.

No money in the bank and two people just suggest to apply for a visa with a minimum of 800.000 Thb on a bank account in your name.

@Darren *******
i never said it was not legit... i said you need to meet the financial requirements legitimately (i.e. with acceptable proof)...

@Glen ********
all I do is legit... I don't work

@Darren *******
I don't think you need to explain though, just show the income. Not where it comes from
Glen *********
If you can't meet the income legitimately, then stay where you are, there are no other legitimate long-term visa options... they are cracking down hard

it's nothing illegal , and I don't work on it , I outsource it.

Too much explaining to Thai officials that a photo sharing website can make money lol.

@Darren *******
surely in that case you will have some sort of trail, not least it arriving in your bank account which is pretty much all they care about.

PS. I was just jealous. Wish I had income I didn't have to disclose

No money in the bank, no income to show, funds in the bank for maybe 1 year, I would say the Single Entry Tourist Visa, get 60 days of stay, possible Extension of Stay for 30 days and than get the funds .

Did you have any children while married in Thailand?

No ... she had kids but not mine.

If you meet the requirements in your own country, check out the Non-Immigrant OA visa.
