Thank you for all the great advice. Went to Phuket Immigration Office yesterday to apply for 60 day covid extension for my husband. Just picked up the passport today and have received 60 days straightaway. Best part is that the 60 days starts from my husband’s original entry stamp so he didn’t lose any days. At the Phuket office there are several foreign staff who provide info and advice in English, French and Chinese. This was super helpful! Next we will likely try for the one year marriage visa (although as advised here we were told by the officer that we can still apply for an extension of the original non-immigrant O visa and I guess now get another covid extension too). Today is a good day!

thanx for the update. Yep, getting a covid extension doesn't affect the 'status' of the original entry stamp SO you can still apply for a year extension if you meet the requirements without any issues
