Hello to the group, i want to share my experience here as i see below "a trina" was asking a good question-Thai Consulate in Vancouver said i could get less than a yr covid insurance and buy the rest when i got here-my visa 0-A was good from July 29 2021-July 28 2022, but i flew out Sept 16, that is the day it was supposed to start, but the Consulate in Canada wrote on my visa page good until May 1-2022, which is 9 months from July 29 2021. i didn't pay any attention to it but went to Korat Immigration last week and they said i have to leave by May 1, instead of Sept. but they also said find out why Thai Consulate in Canada said this. They said if i get insurance, not just covid insurance, but also health insurance which includes covid insurance, then they could probably extend me another full year. Korat Immigration is very good, so hope i get it sorted out as i want to stay here the full yr until Sept 16.

by the way, anybody know of a broker here for me to get health/covid insurance asap- thanks very much in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shares their experience regarding a discrepancy between their NON-O visa's validity dates as stated by the Thai Consulate in Vancouver and the information provided by Korat Immigration. The user is advised that to potentially extend their stay, they may need to acquire health insurance that includes coverage for Covid. Comments further advise caution regarding consulate information and provide a resource for health insurance.

Never trust what a Thai consulate says about the immigration rules in Thailand. They’re run by a different government department to the Thai immigration police.
