What should I do if my LTR visa application in Thailand is rejected without explanation?

Our LTR visa application recently got rejected after almost 5 weeks despite full qualification and submission of all relevant documents.

There was no explanation given.

We've written emails to BOI but haven't heard back. Has anyone else been through this process and if so, can you suggest a way out? We seem to be at a dead-end.

Several contributors share their experiences and recommend visiting the BOI office in Bangkok for assistance. There are also insights on the importance of providing detailed documentation when applying for the visa, as some faced similar rejection issues due to insufficient documentation. Tips on required documents and cover letters are provided, indicating that thorough preparation may improve chances of success in future applications.

When I applied for my LTR-P, I used a cover letter (see example) to explain my financial and health insurance submissions. You have to be very detailed and provide all the supporting documents in one PDF file (W2s, pension letters, bank statements, insurance letters, etc.) ***Also there is a check list on the LTR website for you to follow so you are submitting everything that is required.

This is brilliant!! I will try to do the same
@Jim *******
, and that might do the trick. It clearly seems like the case of misinterpretation of what I provide, or insufficient detailed explanation like you've provided. You've given me hope!!!

remember the funds must be passive i.e. pensions, IRA/401k distributions, rental income, interest, etc.

You should have read the requiremets before applying . You could have saved yourself the stress.

That happened with mine as well, and then when I sent them an email asking what happened, they sent me one back, saying that they couldn’t tell me and any further communication would be ignored. I ended up consulting with a visa agency who gave me the most likely reason.

wow, that's unfortunate. So could you share the visa agency that helped you eventually? And are you through with the LTR successfully or still slogging through it?

no. I am unable to apply for the one I intended as I apparently don’t qualify based on things not mentioned on the page. That said I am going to apply for wp when I have enough passive income

Maybe better to go to the ltr office in Bangkok. There are the people who handle this or maybe a phonecall to the ltr office. My experience is that they are really helpful. I am sure they have provided a reason why you are refused. Why did you that not mention?

we've tried 2209-1109 and 2209-1110 listed on their website but haven't yet been able to get anyone live to speak to.

Is there another number?

that's the thing, no reason was provided. My application on their website goes from "Final Review" to "Rejected" with zero explanation

if they didn't respond after you uploaded the requested documents they m8ght have missed them. From their standpoint they might have assumed you never responded and so were no longer interested. But just a guess. You could always try re-applying.

There comes a point with the BOI where text communication no longer helps. At that point you need to pick up the phone and call during their business hours. That tends to get a much better response.

we have tried calling +66 (0) 2209 1109 and +66 (0) 2209 1110 and no live person is available even during business hours.

Is there another number or should we keep trying?
