DTV holder, 1 year in.

I've been steadily visiting other places, resetting my 90 days, up until January. Then people started visiting me so I stayed put and oopsie, blanked on the 90 day report.

I've missed the 90 day reporting cutoff by quite a bit (2 months or so). I plan to head to the Immigration Office (div 1) in Chaeng Wattana tomorrow. I am bringing:

1) Passport

2) copy of my DTV

3) copy of my original TM30 from the landlord

4) photocopies of each page of my passport

Some questions for those who know - is a foreign credit card acceptable for paying the 2000 thb fine or does it have to be cash?

Anything else? TBH, I don't have anything else in the way of documents...
Answer summary
The user, holding a DTV, missed their 90-day reporting requirement in Thailand and seeks advice on handling the situation. They plan to visit the Immigration Office in Chaeng Wattana with their passport, DTV copy, TM30, and passport photocopies. The community comments suggest that cash is required for the fine and advise that not showing up for the report typically results in no issues when exiting the country. Several users recommend not paying the fine voluntarily and to consider just waiting for the next exit instead. There are warnings that if a person is stopped by police for any other reason, they might face fines for failing to file the report.

TBH I missed my first one, flew out and zero issues leaving, came back and no issues at all. I dont think the airport immigration even looks at this stuff.

Some of the advice below isn’t very good. Do your own research and weigh the risks of not reporting versus reporting. Here’s some practical advice and information (there are other sites too)

Everything you do at immigration requires cash.

Regarding your current situation. It is probably simplest to just leave and come back. At the border no one checks the 90 days report ... but as others pointed out, if you get stopped by police for what ever reason and they notice, you might get fined.

Pay fine not a big deal.

CASH only for the 2000baht failure to file on time fine.

You want to go to the 3rd floor where the 90 day report/TM30 and certificate of residence room is.

NOTE

To be completely honest, I wouldn't even waste the time doing it. Just leave when you're scheduled to reset the 180 day entry stamp, The officers at the airport won't care in the least if you did a 90 day report or not. (that is NOT their job) you won't have any issue stamping out/back in to the country.

Certainly you can slog out to C/W queue up with the zombie horde and file a 90 day report late but I just wanted you to know that NOTHING will happen to you when you leave the country without doing a 90 day report, you cannot be fined for failure to do a 90 day report when you exit the country., There is no black mark, nothing happens.

OP
So under what circumstances is the report checked if not at customs into or out of Thailand?

Yep same experience here. Zero issues. I missed my first one because I had no idea it was even a thing.

Some people have problems understanding what I'm saying.

The rule is clear, if you are on a a visa/extension that requires 90 day reporting and you stay 90 continuous days in thailand you're obligated to report. Failure to report within 7 days after the due date results in a 2000baht fine.

ALL I am saying is if you don't report, when you go to stamp out nothing happens to you.. The officers at passport control at exit points (airport/land crossings) don't care at all if you've ever filed a 90 day report or not.

very bad advise to suggest someone breaks laws and saying nothing will happen. 💯 🧌 ing.

LongTimeLivingInThailand I wasn't suggesting breaking the law, and I suggest you work on your reading comprehension

I was pointing out that nothing happens at the airport when you stamp out without having done a 90 day report, AND nothing happens when you stamp back in either.

those officers at passport control don't care in the least if you ever filed a 90 day report or not

How about my posting pundit that we agree to disagree and leave it at that. I'm telling you how it works at the airport stamping out/in without having filed a 90 day report.

So once you have the DTV, you must leave every 180 days and also report every 90 days?
Elías ********

@Colin *******
not every 180 days, that is the maximum. You can stay 1 week and leave (and reenter), or 1 month, or 4 months or up to 6 months. It's up to you. There are no reentry requirements, such as other visas that need an either free nor not free rentry permit.

Not only DTV nearly every Thai visa etc has 90 day reporting. Only one that doesn’t is LTR which is 1 year reports

Cash only accepted. Note, Voluntary late reporting usually results in a THB 2,000 fine, while being caught by immigration officers can lead to a THB 4,000 fine and a flag in the system.

LongTimeLivingInThailand not correct, the 2000baht fine is all anyone ever gets when they show up to report. The ONLY time you can be fined the higher amount is if you're arrested for something else and they find out you didn't file a 90 day report.

To my knowledge not a single person has ever reported they were fined the higher amount (even ones who were arrested for something else)

@Tod ********
actually you are incorrect. I was late reporting and paid 6K baht for a family of 3. The IO handed me back 3K and put the other 3K in his wallet saying no receipt nah.

Tod *********
LongTimeLivingInThailand that you paid 'under the table', didn't get a receipt and only got charged half is just how it worked out for you
LongTimeLivi************

@Tod ********
that's what I said. 2,000 Baht for volentary reporting late. But if arrested (caught) it's actually up to 5,000 baht.

Just forget it , nothing will happen,

no real point paying the fine voluntarily.

Just wait till you next exit and re enter, and then try do 90 day report. The fine stays the same anyway

you might get lucky and they don’t notice and just carry on as normal
