What Should I Do If I Can't Return to Thailand on a Tourist Visa?

I've been living in Thailand for the past 2.5 years with tourist visas and one education visa.

I'm understanding it'll be near impossible for me to return on a tourist visa with all the stamps currently in my passport.

Is there a specific amount of time I need to be out of the country before I can return on another tourist visa?

Appreciate the help all.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat living in Thailand for 2.5 years on tourist and education visas is concerned about returning on a tourist visa due to numerous stamps in their passport. The community discusses options, including waiting time before reapplying, getting a new passport, crossing via land borders, and exploring other visa types like work permits, business visas, or the Elite visa.

has about all the information they could need to make an educated decision on where to get the tourist visa and how to enter the country.

With your admitted history of living in Thailand several years, I suggest you ask

they should be okay, getting in by land IF they can get a tourist visa :) The land border crossings are not the problem in the chain of events, it's GETTING the tourist visa and then flying in on it

Get a tourist visa and enter the country by a LAND border. Your previous entry history is what causes you to have risk when flying in.

you'd get right thru a land border with a valid tourist visa without any questions

Yes you stated you've been LIVING in Thailand on tourist visa and ED visa this is what they are trying to stop so search out another visa that will serve you best if your under 50 Elite is your best option I believe it's 500,000 baht for 5 years

No there is not. History is history and can't be undone with time out of the country as it is all computerised now at the airport. You will need to look at other options. Get a job with WP, business visa or Elite visa or get married (if that is an option). Good luck.

Use the land border to cross if you got a tourist visa. Higher chance that you will get through.

1. There is no set amount of time before you can apply for another tourist visa.

2. If you want another tourist visa, you can get a new passport. The database the embassies and consulate use do not keep old passport information.

3. If you get a visa using a new passport, the immigration office keeps track of people using biometrics, so it'll be up to them to decide if you can enter or not.

land border entry with a tourist visa would be a safer bet yeah

It's not getting another tourist visa that's the problem. It's getting through immigration at the airport, that's my main concern.

Appreciate it Benjamin!
