What is the typical timeframe for receiving approval for the LTR Visa from the Thai BOI?

I've submitted everything to the Thai BOI for the LTR Visa. It took a couple of back and forth communications via the website to answer their questions for amplifying information, but have received no further requests from them for four weeks. I usually say that No News is Good News, but cannot help but have apprehension about not hearing from them. Yes, I meet and exceed most of the requirements the Thai BOI specifies for this visa.

I'd really like to hear from those that have applied and received the LTR Visa approval, what kind of timeframes did you encounter?

Thank you for any feedback!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster has submitted their application for the LTR Visa but has not heard back from the Thai BOI for four weeks, despite meeting all requirements. They seek advice from others on typical timeframe experiences regarding LTR Visa approval. Comments reveal varied experiences: some received approval in about four weeks, while others are experiencing longer waiting periods, with reports of approval taking up to four months. Suggestions include contacting the BOI for updates if the process seems stalled.

We have also been waiting 5 weeks now. The only request was for insurance receipt and I provided immediately. Despite all the suggestions that BOI are responsive, my experience has been quite the opposite. Either cut and paste response (not specifically addressing the question) or no response at all. Most recently, they ignored my questions regarding health insurance and simply said "no additional documents have been requested". Nothing else. We are with screen 5, FWIW.

I can take a while, I think depending on which officer that takes your case. I've been waiting over 4 months for my LTR. All requirements met. The latest status says "Final Review" and it has been stuck there for over two months. I have received no response to several e-mails, and when calling I only get to the operator who checks the case # and then tells me to keep waiting. Keeping my thumbs that it will go through eventually. Some friends of mine (less qualified in comparison) had a very responsive officer and received their LTR endorsement letter in less than 4 weeks.

Hi Robert, I am going to apply for the WP soon, may I ask if you did anything differently than others, I read that submitting a cover letter to summarize your particular situation helps. Any details would be very much appreciated.

I’m retired Navy, Us Government, Social Security, and have TriCare for Life. I attached letters from each outlining my entitlements. I also had my TriCare letter. For the financial items I added a cover letter.

They asked for more financial definition. I provided one year’s worth of bank statements…with cover letter. I also needed to provide proof that TriCare would provide <$50k of coverage. I provided a cover letter with these, too.

I found out that mine is at the third step of the process.

I think it’s all a matter of who reviews your application regarding speed of processing. But, that’s personal conjecture.

not sure if have and VA benefits for disability rating. Bangkok hospital has contract for foreign medical services on top of Tricare. This way no copay.

If it looks stuck, call them and ask for an update. Ask them if they need anything from you. This got mine unstuck and there are reports it helped other people.

I have the LTR-WP Visa. Took about 4 weeks start to finish. If you have questions e-mail the BOI, they are very responsive.

I read info on the BOI website, it appears I’m at the government agencies review stage. We’ll see now!

Thanks again!
