TLDR : Answer Summary
The total monthly cost of living well in Bangkok for a single person can vary significantly based on lifestyle choices. Estimates suggest a budget ranging from around 16,000 to 35,000 THB, which includes apartment rent, food expenses, and transportation. Rental costs for apartments are typically between 5,000-8,000 THB, while food can range from 200-400 THB per day. Transportation costs depend on the mode of transport, with options like sky trains being less expensive compared to private cars.

pretty impossible to live like that as a farang. That is a very Thai style lifestyle. Maybe double that and might be more realistic.

my buddy lives in a nice shop house in On Nut. His rent is ฿6000 a month and it’s fully furnished. He has a motorbike that he paid cash for. His teaching salary is ฿45,000 per month. He lives pretty well and goes somewhere every other weekend for a getaway. He has a Thai wife and I think she makes around ฿20,000 per month. A lot of her money goes into a their savings account. I’ve been married for 10 or 12 years.

it depends on how frugal or luxury your life style is. What I told above was considered "frugally". ( Because Thailand has a lot of prices for you to buy; everything has its cheap and it's expensive counterparts)

U can even save more money cooking everything yourself, or sharing an apartment with a friend or a family member .

@Dan *****
but the OP asked how much to 'Live Well' in Thailand. You didn't answer his question. 😉😉😉
Dan ******
@Nigel *************
living well is subjective.

Sometimes u can buy a buffet in Bangkok for ฿79 or u can eat ฿249 buffet at Narai pizzeria Shabu. It is considerably much lower than developed countries5-8 times.

@Dan *****
so basically we all cannot truly answer the OP's question
