TLDR : Answer Summary
The recommended monthly income for visa approval in Southeast Asia varies greatly among applicants and situations. Several comments suggest that there is no official minimum income requirement, yet having a figure around 30,000 baht (approximately $900 USD) or higher is often favored. Some users reported successful approvals with as little as 1,000 USD per month, while others suggest that a more comfortable living in Bangkok would require at least 50,000 baht (about $1,500 USD) per month, especially for a single person. The consensus seems to indicate that while minimum income evidence may not be strictly enforced, higher income can significantly bolster approval chances.

I dont think it's about monthly income per se. You need to have the minimum requirements. But I will say that in addition to the minimum requirements a good monthly income helps. But I don't think there is a set number but I would think something like 1500- 2000 USD would be fine.

I have sent myself each month 1000 USD for 6 month for the salary requirement paper trail. Seemed to be enough as my visa got approved

Anonieme deelnemer 121 then they did not really look at it, because 1000 USD is by far not enough to live from.

that depends. You can rent a townhouse for 10-15k Baht and still have plenty over for food. It always depends on your own standards and what you want. I believe that they looked very closely but probably they are more interested in the liquid assets than “income”.

Anonieme deelnemer 121 there is more than food and accomodation.

What about health insurance, electricity bill, clothing, transport?

We talk about living, not about surviving

this comment is insane, the question related to visa requirments, the majority of locals in bangkok dont earn more than 20 k so why on earth would you be expected to pay 40k on rent. im not saying everyone has to like on a thousand usd a month but you dont have to be rich if you dont want to be or cant afford to be

$1500 USD is possible. But you would have to run an extremely tight budget. It’s less than 50k baht. People do it, but it is not likely comfortable for western expat

That can be enough for a single person who lives accordingly e.g not out drinking every night in central Bangkok

There is no written requirement but I doubt you would be approved at an income of less than 30k bht a month. I would say 50k or more sounds more solid if I was the person approving visas.

idiotsomchai You can be approved on income less than 30k THB. Unemployed applicants get DTVS.

Doesn’t matter about income….. you could earn 5,000,0000 baht per month but unless you satisfy the requirements you won’t be accepted for
