PSA: Went to Chaengwattana today to renew my visa exempt at 2 plus. There was about 400 people ahead of me by the time I got my queue ticket. Wasn’t sure if they would turn away everyone after their official closing time (4.30pm), but luckily they didn’t! So after more than 5 hours of wait, I finally got my visa renewed at 7.30pm. Kudos to the staff at the immigration office here for staying way past their closing time and helping everyone get their visas sorted! If anyone has any similar experiences pls do share.

Update: Asked the staff there. They said will only open after standard closing time for this period because of the coronavirus. Not sure when they will go back to usual operating hours.

Unfortunately that was on you :O

As a rule "Tourists" <- people on 60 day tourist visas and 30 day visa exempt stamps don't wake up early.

If you had shown up at 9 AM (after the whole morning queuing herd had gotten in I bet you would have been out of there by 10:15.

Those sections (section J & K) are EMPTY in the morning. BUT as you found out they are jammed packed in the afternoon.

Glad you got it done. Better planning would have made that trip easier and faster.

Thanx for the update (y)

As long as you get queue number before they stop providing, you would be served within that day no matter how late it goes.
