What is the process for getting a newborn on a Thailand DTV?

The process for getting a newborn on a DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) is generally not required; children of foreign nationals can live in Thailand without needing a DTV. Typically, children born in Thailand to foreign parents need to be registered and may have access to Thai nationality if one parent is a citizen. However, expatriates often need to maintain a legal stay in Thailand for themselves, which applies to all foreigners. To apply for a DTV for a child, it usually must be done outside of Thailand through the designated Thai visa application website. Comments also indicate that some expats homeschool their children, further describing various family situations.
