DTV Approved! (Workcation Visa)
Just wanted to share a quick update on my experience in case it helps anyone going through the process 👇
I’m a UK citizen with a fully remote UK job, (Software Developer)and I used a Cash ISA to meet the 500,000 baht requirement, I checked this with them beforehand via email and it was confirmed as acceptable 👍
Applied:
23rd April (London - Royal Thai Embassy)
Timeline:
Applied: 23rd April around 10:00am
First document request: 23rd April around 11:20am
Additional documents submitted: same day (within ~30 minutes)
Approved: 28 April 6PM, Thankfully I logged into the website, as I didn't see the email at first until I noticed on the website it said email has been sent.
Total time: 5 working days
For the financial/employment side, I used my P60 (2024-2025), as I don’t yet have the 2025-2026 version, this was accepted.
Documents requested:
• Personal tax calculation / HMRC letter (or latest P60)
• Signed company letter confirming employment + remote work permission (addressed to Royal Thai Embassy, London)
• Boarding pass + passport stamps from last Thailand trip (if available)
• Consent letter confirming remote-only work (no Thai-based income)
• Consent letter confirming I would remain in the UK during processing
• I also sent them via email my lifetime ISA and investment account with trading 212, although this is not accepted as the main source for the 500k baht, it is still nice to show them that you actually have more funds.
I combined the consent points into one letter, which was fine.
Overall, the process moved pretty quickly once everything was submitted, especially the initial document request coming through so fast.
Hope this helps anyone applying, happy to answer questions 👍
I have printed the DTV full size and smaller sizes already! Ready to show when I get to BKK
