Dear lovely people, Iโve come for some advice on visa and work permit cancellation.
Iโve just recently resigned from a BOI company and are now serving notice period.
Here where it gets tricky. I will be starting a new job with a non BOI company and therefore can I ask, what would be the maximum extension of stay that my BOI company can apply upon the date of visa and work permit cancellation? Thank you ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on the visa and work permit cancellation process after resigning from a BOI company. They are starting a new job with a non-BOI company and want to know the maximum extension of stay their BOI company can apply for upon cancellation of their visa and work permit. A commenter advised that the user should consult with their current employer and the BOI office for specific procedures and possible grace periods, which may vary.
That is what you have to ask your current employer and BOI (OSOS).
Your employer will give you documents (or support you to apply) for cancellation of your work permit and extension of stay. Those documents have the termination date of your employment. You can apply for cancellation a few days or weeks in advance. OSOS MIGHT give you a grace period, but it could be any of 0, 7, 14, or 21 days depending on the BOI company (employer) and maybe some other factors. <- This is also what you need to ask your employer AND BOI.
You need to talk with your current and new employer about the procedures for you to follow.
