Hey quick question,

I applied in HCMC yesterday and i noticed their's an interview request option as one of the possible steps.

Can someone explain exactly what that is and why they would do it considering its an e-visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The interview request option for an e-visa application allows the authorities to ask questions or request clarification on the information provided. This step is usually implemented if there are specific concerns or if additional information is needed to evaluate the application. It serves as an opportunity to address any ambiguities rather than outright denying the visa.

Jus because it is an e-visa the interview is the possibility to ask extra info

Usually this option would only be used if they want to question you on the information supplied. It's more likely they'd just deny the visa in that situation i suspect

It is a chance for them to ask questions, get clarification or otherwise evaluate your application. It is better than being denied without a chance to clarify.

They can obviously still ask you to go to embassy for an interview if they want
