What are the requirements for proving savings and remote work permission for a Thailand DVT visa?

Dear all

Sorry for keeping my name hidden at the minute but still in the process of applying for my DVT. They asked me for more info. I proved my savings and income was within threshold. Savings in  UK and my income where I’m a resident in UAE. They wanted evidence of my savings in the UAE. There is nothing to say that savings have to be in the same country if residency. Any views please? 

Also my employer NOC was really well written but didn’t use the word “worcation”. It mentioned being allowed to work remotely from anywhere and my salary would continue in country if residency etc….. they asked me for a new letter with the word “worcation” in it? Again this was not in the original requirements. Any views please?

ForgivingPapaya1080 the letter has been accepted now as I have a covering letter BUT it’s this but now- they want a deposit to maintain in aed (dubai). If I transfer I will loose my interest in UK but my friend can transfer… will the accept this

You are in the UAE working, yet your savings is in the UK bank. Why isn't your immediate savings in the UAE, where you actually work? I would guess this is what they are concerned with.

Kool Breez because it was a pension payout and I told them this and showed evidence - no point moving it across the world and it goes into a UK account. The fact I don’t use it should be a good thing but I get your point - thank you.

Not sure about your savings in the UAE, I think it's more likely they want further evidence of your income such as payslips with the relevant income highlighted in your bank statements, but that's just a guess.

As to the letter from your employer I've never heard of them wanting to see the word "workation" but it's very common for them to want to see a letter from your employer giving you explicit permission to work remotely from Thailand and stating that you won't work with any Thai entities or clients inside Thailand.
