Question. Asking 'cos getting this visa was insanely hard. WP and Volunteer rules changed in Chiang Mai during my application.
I am being told different things.
So, have a one month extension for a three-month WP. I had first got a WP and that was rejected and then when they changed rules they said they would give only 3 months. Now they will give a year again, but first I must apply yet again for another WP. Before I apply for that I must get my one month extension extended to 3 months.
Ok, so as this has taken so much time already, i don't want to $%#@ this up.
I am being told if you have been asked to come back at a 'specific' date for a volunteer extension you can rock up at any time. No queue. My friend was at CM immigration this morning. There was fighting and madness and camping and machine faults and some 4 am campers being turned away - not happy campers.
Can I just turn up at any time and go to a counter?
Just need passport and WP? That's it? I am being told several stories. I guess it's unique as usually don't get 3-month WPs, so no extending to 3-months. BTW, I've already met with cops at my foundation and they are happy with my volunteeriorosity.
Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is seeking clarification on whether they can show up at Chiang Mai immigration at any time after being asked to return on a specific date for their volunteer work permit extension. They are confused due to changing rules regarding work permits and extensions, and they have heard conflicting information regarding the process and the necessity to queue.
If Immigration ask you to come back on a 'specific' day or they will tell you also the time to show up or you ask the time when to show up. Immigration in Chang Mai makes appointments set by day and time for some cases.
