TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a K-1 visa as a U.S. citizen for a Thai fiancé, it is crucial to understand the required documents and information needed from the fiancé. Comments suggest reading the I-129F instructions thoroughly, as it outlines the specifics required for the petition packet. Some recommend seeking professional help from services like RapidVisa or Siam Legal to ease the process, especially for those who might find the paperwork overwhelming. It is also advised to gather considerable proof of your relationship, including photos and travel records, as such documentation can bolster the application during the interview process.

I used Siam Legal for the K1 for my wife in 2011. I could have done all the paperwork myself but their help was invaluable in preparing her for the interview. She knew what to expect and they practiced with her a lot (i was not in Thailand at the time). It was well worth it for peace of mind going into the interview.

Also we gave tons of paperwork - a stack maybe 3cm high of proof of knowing each other (pics, travel records etc) - seemed to help as all the ICE folks commented on it (and didnt want to read it all) but we never had any questions about if we knew each other. Best of luck.

Made her feel more comfortable as she had limited English abilities at that time.

I would recommend you join a KI/CR1 visa group, there’s a lot of good info out there and it’s free

How much did using rapid visa cost for you? And does it make the process a lot easier?

I used rapidvisa.com. I remember one document had to be signed by my fiancé in her native language, thia. Anything that you overlook will cause a delay. In my opinion rapidvisa was money well spent.

Read the I-129f instructions, look at the form itself, if you can understand it...you’re good to go, if not....hire a pro
yes, the instructions are detailed but pretty clear, for something as important as that, u certainly dont want tl leave it to random advice on the details-- the best advice already made was, if you are uncertain at this early stage, hire a pro.

Yes... It's a long list... also takes time. You can do it yourself but if you are having difficulty already at the first step, you might want a professional to assist...
I understand that I need her personal information which I already have passport photo, proof of her residence etc. I guess what I’m asking is do I need her to send me any signed documents, or is the majority of the I-129f up to me?
