Hypothetical question which I am sure affects many here.
I understand that if on a marriage extention, it is cancelled immediately when divorced.
But what happens if your spouse passes away?
Does immigration expect you to put your grief aside and go to immigration the next day and get a seven day refusal.
Seems unreasonable in the circumstances.
Or can you immediatly apply forcretirement visa if you have sufficient seasoned money in bank ?
Thanks.
TLDR : Answer Summary
If a Thai spouse passes away, the marriage extension visa does not get canceled immediately. You can remain in Thailand until your current visa stamp expires, and you have the opportunity to change your visa type before that time, such as applying for a retirement visa if you have the required funds.
