Hey. I’ve got a question. I’m going to Laos and I need to buy a visa. After that, about two weeks later, I want to cross into Thailand at the land border in Vientiane. From what I’ve read, Thailand has been refusing entry more often lately. My question is: if Thailand refuses to let me in, will I have to buy another Lao visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the implications of potential denial of entry into Thailand after obtaining a Lao visa for crossing at the Vientiane land border. Answers suggest that if entry is refused, travelers may need to return to Laos without the option to re-enter by land, and advise considering travel by air instead due to recent issues at the border.
yes your visa is used and you receive an entry stamp giving you permission to stay in Laos. The visa is done at that moment and you're using your permission to stay. When you leave they cancel your permission. But if you get denied they'll un-cancel it.
