TLDR : Answer Summary
A Thai partner moving to the UK likely needs to complete the IELTS Life Skills A1 test, available in Bangkok at IDP or the British Council. If her English is proficient, she could consider taking the B1 test to avoid retaking it later during indefinite leave to remain (LTR) applications. The Life in the UK test is required after she arrives in the UK.

She needs to do the IELTS Life Skills A1 test (if she's in Thailand). This can be done in Bangkok at IDP or the British Council. If her English is very good, she could do B1 which is more difficult, as this would mean she wouldn't need to take it later for LTR. PM for details if you want. The Life in the UK test won't be required until she's in the UK and applying for indefinite LTR.
