Hi all, I am from Malaysia and will be entering Thailand on a Non-Immigrant ED student visa for my degree this August. After visiting the consulate, I got the sticker stating the 90-day period when I am supposed to enter Thailand. I asked the consulate for further clarification but they were quite rushing the queue. So, I just want to understand more from you guys here.
From my visa sticker given from the consulate, the last date given is 25 July 2023. So does this mean I have to enter the country on/before that date? And once I enter, only then i will be given a 90-day visa stamp counting from my date of arrival?
And I understand countries like Malaysia have a 30-day visa exemption, will this have any effect in my case?

TLDR : Answer Summary
You must enter Thailand before the expiration date on your Non-Immigrant ED student visa sticker, which is 25 July 2023 in your case. Upon your entry, you will receive a stamp that grants you a 90-day stay starting from your arrival date. This process is distinct from any visa exemption rules that may apply to your country.

a single entry non-immigrant type ED visa is valid for 3 months from the date it's issued.
That means you have up until that date to ENTER thailand and when you do you will get stamped in for 90 days (even if you enter on the last day the visa is valid for)
It has nothing to do with any visa exempt entry a country can get entering without a visa, you're comin' in ON a valid visa
