TLDR : Answer Summary
The Jakarta Embassy has requested additional documents to prove your genuine interest or past experience in Muay Thai as part of your visa application. Suggested options for evidence include taking photos at local gyms, providing past training photos, or crafting a narrative about your motivation for learning Muay Thai. The comments highlight different creative approaches to fulfilling this request, ranging from showing actual involvement to hypothetical scenarios.

Maybe you can go view some gyms tomorrow and while “touring”, ask the staff to take a few pics of you watching a class or something

Participante anónimo 224 not really strange, as many people (not saying the OP is one of them) ask for the soft power DTV to live (or work illegally) in Thailand without even taking any courses. It's only natural that the embassy wants to make sure the application is real.

Consulate General? Jakarta is an Embassy

- The division within the embassy is the consulate (consular section). The other sections relate to politics and economics etc. since the consulate deals with public services, they tend to also have standalone locations in other parts of a country

We just had this from Jakarta too. I think a cover letter / Motivation statement will do the trick.

Lol I would just write a letter saying your a first time muy thai learner because you want to learn self defense, and then write a quick story of a made up scenario where you got beaten up at the grocery store or something and since then you felt it was important to get trained for self defense because you live in a dangerous neighborhood.

Anonymous participant 224 yes I actually just got an email after I sent this message

They asked me for the same thing. I sent my agent photos of a Muay Thai gym. Photos of me at a Muay Thai fight. Photos of me hitting the bag in my home gym and that’s it she thinks it’s more than enough

Good luck

They want evidence that you are actually interested in Muay Thai and not just signing of for s course now to get a visa. Have you taken lessons before? Ever tried it out? Any photo of you practicing before?

- for some reason, they want evidence that you are actually interested in MT. It has happened a few times according to others. Not sure why they select who they select to ask. Age? Size?
