Question about traveling with children within the Kingdom.
My wife and I our traveling by plane from Chiang Rai to the beaches down south and bringing our 7 year old granddaughter and our 12 year old nephew, what kind of documentation will we need for flight down and back?
I ask because while my wife is biologically related to both (Thai Nationals with ID cards) we all have different last names.
Thank you for any help or suggestions.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When traveling domestically in Thailand with children, the primary requirement is valid identification for each individual. While Thai nationals can fly within the country using their ID cards, it is advisable to have supporting documents in certain situations. Given that the children have different last names from their guardians, obtaining a letter of authority from their parents granting permission for them to travel could be a prudent measure. Though not strictly necessary for domestic flights, it may help avoid complications.
You may need a letter from their parents and a copy of their ID giving permission for them to travel with you. Better to have the correct documents and not need them..
With all the madness in this world and so much child trafficking I would suggest getting a letter of authority from the parents showing you have permission for them to travel with you. Might not be necessary but I do believe it could be a saving grace if just one person decides to question.
