Do all immigration offices in Hua Hin issue a residency certificate for a driving licence? Anything else required to take with than TM.30 from my hotel, my passport and a photo. I have a 10 year LTR visa which I believe should allow the issuance of a 5-year driver's permit although I am 69 years old. Correct? Many thanks for your help and advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a residency certificate for a driver's license in Hua Hin, you'll need your TM.30 from the hotel, passport with current visa, and a photo. Additionally, a medical certificate is required. With your 10-year LTR visa, you should be eligible for a 5-year driver's permit, but the first license is typically issued for 2 years. Ensure you provide proof of accommodation, and be prepared for potential long waits for appointments.

By the book, you need to have stayed 3 month on a long time visa, to get the residence certicat.

But not all Immigration Officer has read the book lately.

Be aware that there can be a long wait (2-3 month) to get a appointment for the test, at the tourist destinations.

You need a medical certificate. If you are doing motorbike and car then you need one for each

Requirements below.

The DLT opens at 8:30 officially, but the doors open at 8am, you can go in, get your papers, fill out and submit stuff. They’ll start doing work at 8:30 though. Foreigners don’t need to make an appointment or wait up.I followed the listed requirements as outlined on the DLT’s website. To note about the requirements:- If you’re renewing a car and motorbike license at the same time, you only need ONE certificate of residency and medical cert. Make a copy and sign the 2nd one. You’ll need 2 copies of everyone, one for the motorbike and one for the car license.

- Medical cert

- Certificate of residency OR work permit with address on it

- Passport and copy of Data page and visa/extension

- License from your home country and a photocopy of the license

And cash to pay
