Hi Guys, just wondering how everyone’s reentry went once you’d been in Thailand for their first 6 months? I’m leaving to go to KL for the weekend as my 6 months is up, how was everyone’s experience? hopefully no problems? 🙏🏻🇹🇭
Answer summary
The conversation revolves around reentering Thailand on a Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) after the initial six-month period. Most users report having no issues at the border during their reentry into Thailand after short trips to neighboring countries, like Malaysia. Several commenters share their experiences, noting repeated entries without problems and suggesting that concerns about visa validity are largely exaggerated. There are also safety advisories regarding drug laws in Malaysia and a discussion about living preferences in Thailand.

Be sure not to have “broccoli” in your system. Malaysia and Singapore treat people with devils lettuce even when consumed outside, the same as if you have consumed it in their beloved country! I’m not trying to scare you, but rather inform you!
If you have consumed some, consider a different country, like Vietnam, Laos, etc. Just to be sure! You don’t want to end up in prison! …and yes they make random wipe tests, if you fit their profiling!
times no issues. Once I had a cranky mid-aged lady with glasses warn me DTV is for tourism, not longterm living. She gave me an attitude but stamped me anyways.
ConfidentGoose9990 Those people got to me a year ago. Numerous stress free border crossings later and I realized I had fallen victim to misery and bull**** merchants. We are fine. Relax. Enjoy the trip.
