What are the visa options for a day trip from Thailand to Laos via the Friendship Bridge?

Laos Visa for a Day trip
Hello Everybody,

Near the end of the year my wife and I are going to visit her family in Bueng Kan on the Mekong river.

My wife’s father has family from Laos and would like to take us there to visit them.

I looked on the eVisa website and it mentions the borders an eVisa with Thailand that can be used.

It didn’t mention the new Friendship 5 bridge from Bueng Kan.

Maybe it just hasn’t been updated on the websites as it’s new.

Has anybody had any experience with this?

If the eVisa isn’t available, then maybe at this border can I buy one at it as we enter?

But that could take time and we are only going for a day trip or maybe it’s quick.

Or can I go to an embassy in the uk 🇬🇧 and get one while I’m there?

If I was to get one in Thailand I would guess I would have to go to Bangkok.

Get the visa when you cross the border as not expensive.  Take a passport size photo with you and cash, maybe a pen as well. Takes 5 minutes and 1 page of your passport.

I went to Laos on bus over bridge from Nakhon Phanom. Got a visa in about 10 minutes it cost about 1000 baht.

Get a Lao Visa Sticker from a Lao Embassy or Lao Consulate beforehand if you want to make Entry into Laos at Lao–Thai Friendship Bridge #5 (Beung Kan–Paksan) as there is no Lao Visa on Arrival (Lao VoA) and no Lao eVisa available there
