TLDR : Answer Summary
To open a bank account on a student visa in Thailand, you generally need several documents, though requirements can vary by bank. A letter from your school confirming your enrollment (which you can obtain upon visiting the school), your passport, and proof of address (like a rent contract or utility bill) are commonly required. Some users also mentioned needing a certificate of residence from the immigration office. It's advisable to check with multiple banks or specific branches, as requirements can differ.

Only the paper from the school and passport.

If your student visa is for at least 3 months you can go to Bangkok bank with your passport, visa, certificate of residence from immigration and money and they should open the account. If you have less than 3 months on the visa it's gonna need alot of luck.

Every bank branch will be different. If you can take a Thai person with you.

Hi thanks all ๐Ÿ’œ As far as my school's concern - they gave me a paper that I study there, so their responsibility ends there. Passport of course. I was wondering if there is something else, like rent contract, or TM30. I asked here to hear from people that maybe did it recently, in Krungthai bank or Kasikorn bank to share from experience.

From memory I believe Kasikorn wanted my rental contract & a utility bill in my name with my address on it. + the document from your school and passport I think should be enough.

I opened mine at the Sukhumvit 33 branch (opposite Emsphere), it's reportedly reasonable foreigner friendly.

simply visit your school and tell them about the bank you want to open an account, they will provide you a set of documents on your name after that you can submit in the bank..........

It's a tricky matter, each bank is different and even branches are. Best to approach a few to see what they say.

Ask your school to write you a letter that you can take to the bank.
