TLDR : Answer Summary
Many users suggest that Bangkok Bank and Kasikorn Bank are among the easiest banks in Bangkok for foreigners to open accounts while on a tourist visa. A rental agreement or utility bill may be required, depending on the branch. Additionally, having a letter from an employer or a reference from an embassy can simplify the process. It's noted that the branch manager's discretion plays a significant role, so it might be necessary to try different branches if one refuses.

I did mine recently at Kausikorn Bank at EmQuartier there. But they will need some kind of documentation on why you want to open an account.

I opened one a year ago with a tourist visa at Bangkok Bank, Central Embassy shopping mall, with a certified copy of my passport, from the British Embassy,

Any bank can do it but it's at the grace of the branch manager. So when they say no just try next door.

If you bring a "letter of reference" from your embassy (in some cases it's just a certified copy of your passport), it'll be easy. I used Bangkok Bank in EmQuartier (Phrom Pong bts).

Some employers can help by providing a letter to the bank or opening an account with the bank that does their payroll as well.

You might be asked for a condo rental agreement or a utility bill in your name in lieu of a work permit. Bangkok Bank is foreigner friendly as is KBank.
