Anyone know about this 10 year retirement visa, this is from an article from 2017. Never heard of this one.

Last two paragraphs of the article:

"Meanwhile, the Immigration Bureau announced last week that citizens of 14 countries would now be able to apply for retirement visas of up to 10 years. However, applicants must have $90,000 in a bank for a minimum of three months prior to applying for the 10-year visa, and have valid health insurance.

The countries whose citizens are eligible for the longer retirement visas are: Australia, Canada, Denmark,Germany, Finland, France, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States."

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses a 10-year retirement visa in Thailand, likely initiated by a 2017 article. Key points include that this visa is available for citizens from 14 countries, requiring applicants to have $90,000 in the bank for at least three months and valid health insurance. Comments clarify that the visa corresponds to the O-X Long Stay Visa category, which prohibits work and demands a financial minimum, while also mentioning a related SMART Visa for skilled individuals.
