TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the compulsory healthcare requirement for the NON-OA visa, which is specifically for retirees in Thailand, as opposed to the more commonly sought NON-O visa that doesn't require health insurance. It notes the high cost of health insurance based on age and recommends AXA as a potential insurance provider.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
It also might be worthwhile mentioning that depending on your age Health insurance in Thailand can be extremely expensive. Check out the costs before you choose what visa to get.
Are you sure you actually want the non-OA visa? That's the only one that requires health insurance, and it's not the retirement visa most people want. Most people want the non-O visa and plan to get annual extensions inside Thailand. This visa has no insurance requirement and doesn't require the other things like background check, health check, etc.
