I am currently on a Business Visa (sorry if wrong terminology) and I want to transition to a retirement visa.
Is it correct that my company cancels my Non-B and I then apply for a Non-O, or something else?
What is the time limit between business visa cancellation and retirement visa application?
Anything else I should know that is unique to this transition?
TIA ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
To transition from a Business Visa (likely a Non-B) to a Retirement Visa (Non-O), you will need to cancel your current Non-B and apply for the Non-O. Ensure you have a leaving document from your company and cancel your work permit in advance. It's advisable to apply for the Non-O before your current visa expires. Additionally, you will need to have 800,000 THB in the bank for at least 2 to 3 months prior to application.

I have done this, you must cancel your work permit and get a leaving document from your company, which you can take to immigration the same day as you make your retirement vida ext. So dont forget your 800kthb needs to be in the bank for 2 or 3 months, not sure ๐ค

I would expect any foreign person staying in Thailand to know the name of the visa that he is on and its implications. Otherwise ding dong.

If u have an extension, u can change your extension to a non - o retirement visa. Your last entry must have been on a tourist visa. U do it before the last day of your current extension. I did mine 15 days before while I was taking vacation from my job. Sorry, I do not have time to give u the full details.

Assuming you are on extension of stay based on working you should just be able to change the reason for your extension but will need to cancel the work permit
