TLDR : Answer Summary
The Pay&Tour tourist bank card from Kasikornbank has received significant criticism from users. Common complaints include its limited usability, difficult access to foreign exchange booths outside of central locations, and the need for cash top-ups in foreign currency. Users have noted that many vendors do not accept card payments, and QR payments require an additional app. Additionally, the app is reported to be slow and poorly designed, causing frustration when trying to utilize features like PromptPay. Many users suggest that traditional credit cards or cash are far more practical in Thailand.

Hate the app.

It’s slow.

Top ups requires cash in foreign currency only

You can use it with vendors so you can’t pay a friend

You have to do it at a currency exchange.

You might as well just use your credit card or cash and the ONLY perk is that you can use QR code

Kasikorn bank has terrible exchange rates

The app is slow and poorly designed. PromptPay only works 20% of the time. Good idea — substandard execution.

Yeah it's really annoying apps take forever. And most merchants are personal accounts. Only works with business. I will be getting rid of mine ASAP.

And not only that. The merchants that do have business accounts accept credit card which is a lot less friction.

But personally I rather pay with cash. Its a nice budgeting tool.

If you still insist on scanning without a Thai bank account, try plebqr.com .. There's volume and it and you don't have to register

mostly useless and difficult to use.

KASIKORNBANK foreign

exchange booth - good luck finding that if you are not in a central location like bangkok. and then you can only top up via cash?!

its a visa card and you are in thailand. most vendors wont accept any card payment.

and for QR payment you additionaly need another app. and still can only top up via cash?

you could use TrueMoney and its basically the same but you can use 7-11 for top up or a true shop.
