TLDR : Answer Summary
Many Singaporeans have shared their experiences in obtaining the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Thailand using various soft power activities. The most mentioned avenues include medical treatments, freelance work, and courses in cooking and Muay Thai. Participants noted the varying processing times, with some stating approvals within a week, while others emphasized the challenges and increased scrutiny in recent applications. The conversations also touched on required documentation and the importance of presenting a sound reason for their stay in Thailand.

Sure. He went to Phaya Thai 2 hospital for his paperwork to treat high blood pressure. He explained to the doctor up front that he used to live in Singapore but has since moved to Bangkok and will be applying for the DTV. His doctor said no problem but would first require him to get labs done. Wait for results, come back for consultation then he'd provide the paperwork for the DTV. The letter that the doctor wrote was very simple. It had my husband's condition, treatment plan with intended appointments for the future.

When he submitted everything in Hanoi, they later asked for the doctor's medical ID and license #. We had to contact the doctor for this from Hanoi, losing more time so I mention this to save time for anyone intending to go the medical soft power route.

It was easy to get the DTV visa then... BUT now it is much more difficult. WITH some Thai Embassy's or Consulates issuing the METV multiple entry tourist visa instead of the DTV visa...or outright denying the DTV visa application.

You will need a letter from your employer or yourself if self employed that you can work remotely in Thailand will not work for any Thai clients or businesses.

You are working online part time ? You can apply for a soft power course if Workcation is difficult. There is no problem if the 500K THB has come from the sale of investments, it must be in a personal bank account.
