What is the process for applying for a Thai Non-Immigrant D Visa in Singapore?

APPROVED! Applied under the soft power category (6-month cooking course) at the Thai Embassy in Singapore.

I found the information on this page quite useful when preparing for my application so sharing my experience for the benefit of others (esp. anyone thinking of applying in Singapore).

25 Oct - Submitted my application

27 Oct - Embassy called to request for further information namely to remove the watermark from the school enrolment documents and to submit my proof of accommodation in Thailand (no airbnb allowed). Submitted the documents on the same day. Status changed to "pending approval".

3 Nov - Approved!

I had initially consulted with a visa agent who advised me to apply in the Philippines, Laos or Indonesia or if in Singapore then under the Muay Thai category which they seemed to think had a higher success rate. This didn't make sense to me at all so I decided to do it myself.

The process was quick, easy and stress-free.

Hope this helps someone, good luck!

Thank You for your helpful report πŸ‘

Congratulations πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

No Airbnb allowed? Is this general rule or only for the embassy in singapore? So how are you supposed to rent or even find something from distance lol

ThoughtfulLychee5096 I think it’s cos Airbnb is illegal in Thailand if it’s for less than one month. Anyway, I submitted a hotel booking.

Anonymous participant lol it’s not. It’s some condo who doesn’t allow short term via Airbnb. The authorities has nothing to with it.

SORRY but you are wrong. Airbnb Less than 1 month rental is illegal in Thailand unless it has a hospitality license. In fact there's a crackdown now happening in cities of the condo rental marketplace.

ThoughtfulLychee5096 Yes it is illegal for less than a month. Except in case of hotel license.
