Hi all. I wanted to share a happy store about DMK immigration this time. πŸ˜‚ I flew out late Tuesday night from there with a 1 day overstay as my visa actually expired the day before on the 2nd. I was so anxious eventho it was just a day (not even a full day) over. I was rushing to make my 7:35p flight and was praying. Hahaha

The agent was very nice she called another make agent over and asked if I knew I'd overstayed, I confirmed yes because of my flight already being booked. She smiled asked when I was returning I told her 6th and she sent me through with the male agent. Who just checked something in the computer. I was all pulling out money to pay and he just smiled and told me to go ahead. When I tell you I was so happy! LMFAO! I floated through security and was at peace by not paying that 500 baht I swear to you. I'm flying back in the early morning but landing in Suvarnabhumi this time. Fingers crossed! 🀞

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat shared her positive experience leaving DMK airport despite having a one-day visa overstay. Although she was anxious, the immigration officers were friendly and did not penalize her. Other comments included mixed experiences of entering Thailand, discussing how enforcement can vary by individual circumstances, with some sharing concerns about returning to Thailand and needing proper visas.

Thank you for disregarding the AH. I appreciate when people post there experiences, good bad or neutral. We get a lop-side perspective when we only read about bad news or concerns -- Thank you.

They will let you off with 1 day overstay usually, but even if you have 2 or 3 days there seems to be no real hassle, speaking from experience I have never had a problem, the agents always seem pleasant

I said in the start I was let off by friendly agents. Coming back in was the issue.

Wouldn’t enter via bkk, always nice leaving and 1 day overstay isn’t an issue but incoming they are refusing ppl everyday for no real reason, best off flying into cm for now

Maybe I'm missing something, but getting out of Thailand has never been difficult, and the 1-day overstay is arbitrary enforced depending on a lot of factors including nationality, race, etc. This is a decision made by IO's own bias when the overstay is only 1 day. Getting INTO Thailand is the difficult part, especially entering from Bangkok or Phuket.

Garrett Greenwald I feel like I am missing something. Since when can you be in trouble for leaving Thailand on a one day overstay? The worse case you pay 500 baht. I think people are seeing reports about DMK everywhere and confuse what the problem is in that airport. The problem with DMK is getting INTO Thailand, not trying to leave. LaMechelle might have seen such post and get a lot of stress by drawing the wrong conclusion. The information given in this group needs to be a bit more precise sometime, it would avoid someone stressing for trying to leave the kingdom, lol.

I had read horror stories about ppl leaving with issues. It's not uncommon. I was pulled out of line in Suvarnabhumi and asked a million questions. How long I'm here, my address in America. I've been here for medical/tourism. Anyway I ended up having to show my appointments at Bangkok Hospital as well as Bangkok Catholic Hospital. I thankfully keep my pdfs in my Google drive so I just started giving all information.

The 2nd agent, yes I was questioned by 2. Asked why I didn't get a tourist visa? I told him I'm moving back to Cambodia so I didn't see the need too. Since I'm coming back to get everything finalized. He smiled and agreed, I had emails back and forth from real estate agents in Siem Riep and Phnom Penh to back that up. As well as proof of my SSD pension from the US. He said if I fly back in I'll need a tourist visa or the letter from the hospital I'm visiting here.

This is why I was stressing...being treated like a criminal is not fun. Before anyone asks I came back to Thailand from KL on a tourist visa in August. I have not had any issues till this 1 day overstay. Glad I'm moving come January I can't deal with the headaches of worrying if my tourist visa will be denied or if I apply for an extension will this be denied. It's happening everyday. I'm one of those who don't really quality for the longterm visas, I'm not old enough for retirement although I'm literally retired on Disability. Anyway that's the way it went down today. Thankfully it wasn't worse.

Used to always be like that for one day, in fact sometimes i used to do it on purpose, and then rather than go through the long queues walk up to front tell them overstayed and someone take you to the desk do paperwork.

Wow. Thanks for the information. Great to know for next time if I happen to overstay. I was cutting the boarding time close so I was worried. At Siem Riep international now and Lanmei airlines asked for ticket for ticket leaving Thailand. I hadn't booked since I plan to extend, so they asked for proof of funds which I had. Never been asked for either of these. Yet I usually have one of them. We'll see how landing goes. 🀞

This is a repost of my reply to someone earlier. It was stressful:

How did it go?

I assume you're a lady? Nationality? Posting with a fake profile and no details kinda defeats the entire purpose πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Right, cuz nationality has zero effect on immigration enforcement... fake name, fake photo and your gender says "her" on Facebook... as I said, pointless to share without info, gnight

My guy. It's a pfp of my favourite Korean celebrity number 1. Two my profile is restricted to only ppl I follow. 2 it's not that serious, I'm just letting the group know I had a great experience. Go outside or something. Drink a beer. Nobody asked for your nonsense. πŸ˜’ Typical 🀑 behaviour.
